i can't play those high resolution real clip properly, no matter what output method i set in media classic player, same with realone player

but i could play clips with same/or higher resolution in mpeg2 or xvid format

my system : athlon xp 2400 with ati 9550

anyway to turn on the graphics card acceleration DXVA to help?

Yes. You need a 3Ghz to decode HDTV content. Your athlon XP is too small :)

maybe Real should consider making use of graphics card hardware accelerate

i found divx player able to play the same high resolution clip at 50% cpu load after i enable the -use accelerated post-proccessingfor supported ATI radeon hardware- option

I thought that the video hardware acceleration only worked for rv8, not for rv9.

most are ~3000Kbps convert from hdtv but resize to 1280x720

That's correct.

The old ATI h/w acceleration supports the RV8 post-filter, but the s/w implementation we have post-filter directly to hardware video memory with almost no overhead, so to be frank, even for RV8 the gain was quite minimal.

DxVA will not help.

RV9/10 decode complexity is higher than MPEG-4 ASP (e.g. DivX), but lower than H.264 (MPEG-4/AVC).
