Hi I have been backing up Dvd's for a while using DVD Shrink, and DVD Decrypter, all with no problems, and all play on my Yamada Dvd Player. However, more recently, the Dvd player will just say No Disc with the backups. Nothing has changed, and the DVD's still play on my computer. Any Ideas?

Are you still using the same media brand/model?
Are you still burning at the same speed as before?

I've noticed that some media's do not work with my player. Also, some DVD's will not read burned movies if burned faster than 4X (sometimes even 2X).

and finally, maybe the DVD is dying on you. This happened to me.

Put some of your old backed up DVD's in the player if it still plays them, then there's gotta be something different to how you burn them now than before.

Just spotted your message. Hope you're still interested.

Assuming you've not changed your backup procedure, and your player now refuses to play previously good discs, the problem could be no more technical than a dirty laser lense.

Buy a CD/DVD lense cleaner (not a disc cleaner) and try it out. My Pioneer DV565 had the same problem (still does occasionally) but the lense cleaner does the trick.

I think my fingers are going dyslexic. How do you spell lens?

hi there,
I have had similar problems with an old sony I have (dvp-S53OD)
what I have been doing is turning of the player with the disc in the player then turning it back on. it seems to do the trick for me also use the lens cleaner as m1ckran sugested, it does work wonders
