End of XviD?

I've heard the sad news :( :( :( some of the best XviD programers have joined Nero. Best of luck to all of you who have dedicated you time and developing the best MPEG4 ASP codec. Does this mean the project is over? :(

But I left XviD long before joining Nero. I said I won't code for it anymore, and my goal was to start on x264.

So, if you believe me leaving XviD means its end, it happened in January.

boy that f'n sucks. I know that they were doing it in their freetime but now that means I have to waste even more money to do backups. because xvid is going to become outdated. Nero's AVC encoder is really overrated and hopefull just like divx got beat by xvid nero will get whooped by x264.

XviD isn't going to die, and it's not getting outdated (already some patches collected for beta2 which help quality quite a bit). sysKin did a lot for XviD but for sure isn't the only capable coder around.

Use the thread mentioned above ;) (I Know it's closed, and it's closed for a good reason. Like this thread now too.)
