$40...please....isn't this the same publisher who got busted before for ...ah heck I can't remember but something and dvdshrink told him to remove it from his page and he reluctantly did.

I think it is the same publisher.

How many people are going to fall for it especially when the version number is similar to Shrink 3.2?

It looks a lot different. Is it a Shrink rip off? I seen a lot of apps that look similar.

This does not look like a DVD Shrink ripoff - apart from the name of course. The user interface is completely different.

Any feedback on how it performs?

I've installed it but for the life of me could not open any DVD I had on my HD, even when in a video_ts folder there were no files listed at all. Weird.

[EDIT]
Now that I've used a regular and not one of my smaller dummy dvds I could open it in EasyShrink (the exe file is named 'dvdshrink.exe', how come?) and rip an already ripped movie to my hd. Curiously enough it seemed to apply compression to it even though it's already down to target size. Seems the prog really sux.

@dvdshrink
Please get back to me via mail so I can finish my job (v. 07 as of now) ;)

@dvdshrink

This is one of the reviews on the link:

User reviews of Easy DVD Shrink

Please dont waste your money
Reviewer: Scareface911
Pros: NONE
Cons: Uses the free DVD-Shrink engine essentially.
Why would you pay fo rthis garbage when DVDShirnk is free. Plus for files that are not supported by DVD shrink you cna use DVD decryptor to rip the this which is also a free program. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE. However, Scareface1911 gives no explanation of what he has done to do a technical comparison of the two compression engines.

The thing is, there is no "dvd shrink engine" which can run separate from the user interface: in fact all later versions of dvd shrink have an anti-ripoff feature, backup will not operate unless the dvd shrink main window is at least partly visible.

BTW I did write to Burnsoft and ask them to reconsider the application title! No response yet.

alright false alarm but sleazy title like you said. What is this with burnsoft...round 3?

I don't recall any burnsoft issues... there was something with "burnworld" before, no? I'm not sure. Seems like every other company is doing dvd backup now, there aren't enough names to go round!

with no loss of content or quality
NO LOSS is such a big word.
i actually found this today and then came across this post, thought it looked like a scam , but GUI is different, no need to go for anything else though as dvd shrink rules :D

yea burnworld, burnsoft...sorry got confused...wouldn't be surprised if the same guy..anyway. Yeah this reminds me of a couple years ago some poor guy walks into Fry's plops down $99 for DVD X Copy and on the package it sure makes you think you'll get it home and find out you need to in most cases split the movie over to two DVD+Rs.
