View Full Version : I am Stumped...

I recently bought from a tape trader several DVD's of concerts..I need to get these on my hard drive as mpgs and have successfully done this in the past with commercial DVD's...So I initially did a rip with Smart Ripper and later with Decrypter...with the same results..(see attached gif of what the rip displays )...
However there are inacuracies that I cannot understand..

When I play the DVD there are two concerts....both of these are complete as I have played them so there is no problem there ..but when I check what has been ripped I find big decrepancies...

EG The First Title is 1 hour 22.20 on the DVD....but the related VOB's (VTS_01_1.vob / VTS_01_2.vob / VTS_01_3.vob) only total 51 minutes 37 sec.....The Second Title is 26 min 23 seconds on the DVD but the ripped VOB (vts_02_1.vob) is only 12 minutes 16 seconds.

I have played the VOB's and this verifies these are incomplete and do not represent what is on the DVD.....

Have I ripped the DVD improperly?...what is happening here....I really need advice on this and would appreciate any comments/assistance...

Thanks Ron New Zealand

Finding a fix is good, why not detail how you tracked the rascal down and share it with the rest of us Noobs? ;)

It was a False Alarm...The audio file was empty..So I re-ripped using DVD Decrypter ...(unlike Smart Ripper or the settings I had it at) ...this certainly ripped eveything..then I used Super DVD
Ripper to encode vob's to mpgs but the problem then was the picture so I used VirtualDub to resize..saving as avi and now I am re-encoding back to mpg????

Surely there must be a better method than this??
