I'm working on Alien, Special Edition, which includes the original theatrical release and the 2003 director's cut.

To keep both versions of the film, I must reauthor by VobID. I know this is a manual procedure, (or at least I think it is?), but I can't seem to find any information on how to roughly calculate bitrate for the encode process.

Are there any easy tips or utilities, or am I going to have to take a guess and hope I get close?

I tried a few different searches through the forums, and looked at the guides, but couldn't find any info. It's amazing that I'm just NOW getting to a vobid demux..

Thanks!

Doitfast4u has support for bitrate calcs for a VOBID demux...

ScenAid also has support for reauthoring a vobid demux... in fact, another forum member just finished reauthoring that movie

I must have something wrong in my setup then, when I do a vob id demux using DIF4U, I wind up simply with a VTS02 folder, and nothing else. When I point Scenaid at the demux folder, it complains that it's not a real demux folder?

hmm.. not sure on that....

What version of Doitfast4u? I know that DVDDecrypter changed a few things w/ it's file naming structure.. that could be causing an issue

Eyes`Only has fixed it in his newer alpha builds which should soon be available but i'm not sure if the current release builds are effected

it's 1.4.0

I've got a clean install of XP that I'm still working on getting my DVD apps working right. I'm going to try it again and see what happens. If I understand the process, however, I demux, then run ScenAid, and use the ccedata that scenaid creates to run BCCE. Is this right?
