I recently borrowed a small MPEG4 video camera from a freind. The camera stores its videos in ASF format on the little SD card inside. Now Windows Media Player plays them fine because it downloaded the corresponding codec for itself. However the files cannot be opened in Movie Maker, Premier or any other conversion program i have tried.

Below is a link to a short 272K clip from the camera.

If anyone can help at all it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I had a problem at one of my schools with a Logitech asf camera and I found it was due to not having the sound codec.

Maybe yours is a similar/same problem

Check out the file properties in media player and see what it reports and then try Googleing for it (I'm not back in school unti week after Easter so I can't go and get it from there :( )

regards

Simon

wrapping the asf file within an avisynth script would work too, isn't it?
