Hey, I am encoding a DV file into XVID in virtualdub.
I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything correctly. Here's what I do.

Open up the DV file in virtualdub. I choose my Audio compression (in this case Fraunhofer IIS)

I then choose my video compression (XVID 1.1 beta)
I make sure its on Twopass - 1st Pass and click OK.

Then I save as .avi (and add it to job control)

I then go back to video compression and configure the XVID codec to "Twopass - 2nd Pass" and I choose a bitrate of 5000.

I then save as .avi (and add it to job control)

I then press F4. The two jobs are there.

I click Start. The First pass goes all the way through but unfortunately I then get an error!

"Statsfile Not found"

If anyone could help me so that this error stops occurring that would be awesome.

Thanks
Staz

Please use the search function before posting such a question!

You need to point the statsfile location to a drive with enough space, ideally the place where your source movie is located.

-> hit the "more" button next to "2pass-pass2". The first line shows the statsfile location. Click the "..." button and select an appropiate directory.
