I need some help creating a script to remove some subtitles. I have transferred my Japanese Laserdisc of Monster Squad to DVD. The film is letterboxed and has Japanese subtitles in the black borders. I would like to reencode this and crop out the subtitles. Is there a simple way to do this, or just use trial & error with the "Addborders" command?

Easiest way I can think of is to just use AutoCrop to crop off the black borders.

If you want to remove them, use Crop.

Open the script in VirtualDub and add a "null transform" filter. Click "Cropping", and you now can visually determine how many pixels from the edges you want to crop.
