I have a non anamorphic widescreen DVD I would like to encode. In GK resolution tab I've set the aspect ratio as 4:3 and am using an output resolution of 512 X 384. When I autocrop it the amounts cropped are 50 (top), 46 (bottom), 4 (left), and 8 (right). This changed the resolution to 512 X 320 and the aspect ratio to 1.6 with an error of 2.4%. I'm not sure what to do from here. Do I want an aspect ratio of 1.6 or is that going to look distorted since it is not 16:9 after cropping? With smart crop I can get the error down to -0.5% but that's still based on the 1.6 aspect ratio I've got now.
