Hi all. I've just started using AutoGK and I've run into a snag. I've been trying to recompress a DVD image, and it seems to hang at the point after AutoGK finds that it is an NTSC source. The log simply says "Analyzing Source" and this goes on for hours. I've left it running over night, and finally shut the computer off with no progress. I've checked to make sure it is running - and it is.

My PC is fairly fast - P4 2.53 GHz.

I'm trying a test on a different DVD right now, and it is moving along quite speedily. It's running the first pass right now.

Can anyone tell me why the other DVD doesn't work? Thanks!

Analysis step scans 10% of the source to find out what it's dealing with. Have you tried running it again? may be its corrupted VOB on which VDubMod hangs.

Thank you, len0x. I've run it many times, and each time it hangs.

How can I tell if I have a corrupted VOB?

I've used AutoGK on a different disk without a hitch. I've been working at Gordian Knot for a bit now, but I'm getting more confused. I'd like to have the simplicity of AutoGK - that would be ideal!

If you have any ideas, please let me know. I'll give it another try now.

Still having no luck. I was able to use AutoGK to make a nice .avi out of a shorter feature (about 4 minutes) on the same disk. But when I try to make it from the main feature (about 2 hours), it always stops at the "Analyzing Video" stage.

I've checked Windows Task Manager, and see that VirtualDub is working (taking up most of the free cycles). But it just doesn't go anywhere!

I think I'm going to have to learn Gordian Knot for this one...

This has happened to me, once. The problem was a messed up vob file. It was corrupted or something.
