so i'm trying to burn an iso of "ongbak" and i did it successfully once using dvd decrypter and imgtool. every subsequent attempt has left me with this error message:

I/O Error!

Device: [1:1:0] SONY DVD RW DRU-530A 1.0b (E:) (ATA)

ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 2A00 00 02 06 20 00 00 20 00

after this message comes up, dvd decrypter freezes and i am unable to open the dvd drive until i restart the computer. my computer is going nuts right now so give me a minute and i'll post the log for dvd decrypter.

Update your drives firmware and get some decent discs.

thanks! using memorex 8x dvd+rs, can you recommend something better? what the hell is firmware and how do you install it? the link you sent makes it sound pretty risky.

Look here for the firmware and the instructions on how to use it:

thank you, this worked perfectly. but what is firmware and why does it need to be upgraded? it seems strange that sony would require the consumer to install something that, if done incorrectly, could permanently disable the drive.

In easy words the firmware is the operating system of the recorder. As your Windows needs update to support new devices, the firmware needs updates to support new media.
