Are we supposed to uninstall xvid every time we install a new version, be it stable or beta? I usually just let AutoGk intall everything, including xvid, even if it is already installed....

I allso thought that when you let autogk install the xvid codec that that was the one it uses automaticly ,but it appears not

err AFAIK installing xvid over an older one is not good, as not as having differente versions at the same time (I mean if you dont really know what you are doing).
This is the reason why this feature would do so good... more and more output AVI size mismatching problems reported recently in the AutoGK forum are caused by xvids bad installations.
Also, would be nice to know if programs in AGK must be installed just with the default options set in the installer or it is not harmful to install, for example, the virtualdubmod plug-ins listed in the installer.
and no, I cant provide you with that stuff as I dont even know what you are talking about :)

Batch script that unregisters and removes all XVID dlls (pre 1.x and current) along with registry entries will be sufficient for me.

well, I was kind of joking anyway, I cant do what you are asking, but if someone points here we would be thankful.
Also, I assume that my question about the AGK installer letting you tick some options in the virtualdubmod tab is answered somewhere in the faq or tutorial as you (politely, then) ignored me :)
edit:
from the tutorial:
"...Optional programs include the XviD Coder/Decoder, AviSynth, and VobSub. If you already have the most recent versions of them, then you don't need to install them again..."
and didnt found anything about this in the faq.
so waiting for reply :)
