Referenced menu empty?

Hi!

I have a small problem :D

When I try to open one of my DVDs in VobBlanker, this error appears:

ERROR: Referenced Menu empty or does not exist in VIDEO_TS.

What is the problem? The DVD plays perfectly in PowerDVD, but I can not open it in VobBlanker :(

I am using VobBlanker 1.6.0.5

Please help me :)

Hi LosKyllos,

Welcome to the forum, please check:

A)Open the VIDEO_TS.IFO in IFOEdit and look into VMGM_C_ADT.
- Is there any cell listed?

B)Look in your DVD folder
- Does VIDEO_TS.VOB exist?
- Is the file readable? Try to open it in VobEdit.

VB outputs this error when finds a cell referenced in menu ADT table but the size of the menu VOB is zero or the file does not exist.

So there are three possibilities:
a) You have a corrupted IFO
- IFOEdit's menu mock strip will fix the problem.

b) You have lost the VOB file
- Try generating blank cells with BlankVob, using the same VID/CID
- Run an IFOEdit's menu mock strip
If the original cells didn't have buttons, this method will fix the problem.

c) A bug in VB

Please post back with the answer to the questions above.

Hello again :)

The VIDEO_TS.VOB file is gone :(

It does not help to do a mock strip. (If I have done it correctly that is) (Is there anything to strip if the .VOB is gone anyway?)

I have tried to open the file in IfoEdit and looked into VMGM_C_ADT.

There is one cell listed, but I am not sure what all these numbers are :)

Well, you can try to create a new VIDEO_TS.VOB file with blank cells.

- Use BlankVob to create the cells you need, using Vob_ID and Cell_ID of the original cells. You can get the original Vob_id and Cell_id from VMGM_C_ADT

[00000000] # of VOBs (VOB ID's) in VMGM_VOBS 1 [0001]
[00000004] End byte of VMGM_C_ADT table 19 [00000013]
[00000008] 1. Cell: VOB ID 1 [0001]
[0000000a] 1. Cell: Cell ID 1 [01]
[0000000c] 1. Cell: Start sector 0 [00000000]
[00000010] 1. Cell: End sector 4 [00000004]


- After create the VIDEO_TS.VOB with the required cells, run an IFOedit's menu mock strip on VIDEO_TS.IFO
- Save your VIDEO_TS.IFO
- Do "Get VTS sectors"

If the original cells are non-button ones (intros, FBI, etc) the new DVD will be OK.

I just encountered this same error message.

My problem was that I had a scratched disc with read errors in the main menu (VTS_04_0.VOB), so I skipped that file when copying it to the disc. VOBBlanker gave me this error when trying to open the folder with the missing file, and oddly it also gave the error when trying to read the disc directly (using DVD43 to decrypt on the fly). VIDEO_TS.VOB was readable in both cases, and VMGM_C_ADT in both VIDEO_TS and VTS_04 has cells listed.

I ended up copying the file to HD with read errors and then using MenuShrink to reduce it down to stills to avoid the bad spots. And VOBBlanker can open the modified files fine now.

do you mean MenuShrink or MenuEdit? (I didn't know MenuEdit could do that!).

MenuEdit has a replace function, which you could take a still of a cell and replace the cell and then do a mock strip.

But MS does it all in one!!!

Well, I used BlankVob to create the VIDEO_TS.VOB file, and then Mock Strip in IfoEdit.

It is working now :D thanks a lot :)
