View Full Version : Rockas' new installer?

Hi,

I have been using DVD-RB 0.74 for a while now (week or so). I just noticed this post about the newest version being 0.77. How did I miss two versions in between?

Anyway, I used Rockas' installer for 0.74. I'm just wondering now -- is there an easy and safe way to upgrade to version 0.77? Like maybe I only need to overwrite the Rebuilder.exe file? Or do I need to run Rockas' installer all over again (the new version)? Have any of the .dll's and support files changed versions, and does RBOpt 0.17beta still work with DVD-RB 0.77?

It's usually the rebuilder.ini that has all yor setting so I save that and install the new version then copy the ini file back into the directory.

Yeah, understood. That makes good sense and I'll try that, but I'm still wondering about Rockas' installer. Will it try to reinstall all the helper apps and libraries, or detect they're already there?

Maybe Rockas' installer is only necessary for the first time you install DVD-RB? After that, perhaps you can just overwrite the Rebuilder.exe file. It seems like that's the case because that's all I see in the new release itself.

You can use the installer to update... it has an "Update" option if you choose it.
The last release will update the Rebuilder.exe and RB-Opt.
