View Full Version : Matroska : NeroDigital + Ac3 -> Choppy Playback

I've tried to mux a NeroDigital video .mp4 (Recode) with an Ac3 stream with mkvtoolnix 1.4.1, but the resulting .mkv plays totally choppy and stuttering.
I've read (i think) all the posts on this argument, but in the end i've not seen a clear way to play (or mux) correctly.
I don't want to use FFdshow, so there is some other method to play the resulting mkv in the correct way?
Or pheraps is a mkvtoolnix problem? If i'm not wrong someone said that with a previous version of mkvtoolnix the resulting mkv played right.
Someone can explain me?
Thank you

EDIT : I use MPC with Official Matroska Splitter or with Haali Alternate Splitter. Both play stuttering.

did you install latest haali matroska splitter (http://haali.cs.msu.ru/mkv/) ? then you can decode your avc video with nero video decoder or ffdshow (if you like) ...
edit: while installing matroska splitter you have to disable the mpc build in splitter...

@Kurt
I've already done this. The video is decoded correctly but stutters, that is :
FRAME ___ ___ ___ FRAME ___ FRAME ___ ___ ___ FRFRFRFRFRFRFRAME ___
and so on....

EDIT : If I've understood well it's a kind of "incompatibility" between NeroDigital way of positioning frame and matroska splitter way. I'm right?

perhaps its a pc related issue.... on my p3 (1ghz, 256MB SDRAM) i have similar problems (also stuttering) ... on the other machine (P4) no problems at all...
btw: for ac3 you use ac3filter? did you try newer ffdshow (http://www.aziendeassociate.it/cd//ffdshow/ffdshow-20050312.exe) with replaced libavcodec.bpyramid (http://www.aziendeassociate.com/libavcodec.bpyramid.7z) (i know u don't want it :))

This sounds like a hardware issue to me, probably the CPU is too slow ?
