I use DVD Decrypter in file mode. This process usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. I then close Decrypter and go to DVD Shrink.
I "Open Files", chose Video_TS file. Analyize take 1-2 minutes.
I then click "Back Up". I disable Nero and Burn Thru DVD Decrypter.
Encoding process starts....usually taking 1 hour or so. Then, DVD burns using Lite-On 8x burner, using 4x disc.

Now...here's the problem. for some reason, all of these processes have doubled or more in time. ????

Encoding took almost 3 hours or more. I thought it was the movie, but, 4 in a row have done this. The actual burning is taking over an hour....usually burns in 15 minutes.

Hard drive is not full.

Any help or tip would be GREAT!!

check and make sure your IDE channel is in DMA mode and not PIO mode.

Thanks Redbeard...now the magic question....How do I check the setting....sorry very Newbie.

Also...I was wrong about my hard drive...160gb has only 10gb free space. Hard drive on computer has about the same. would that slow things down??

And, reviewing my first post above...am I going thru the process correctly? Is there a quicker way?

Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager. Then go to IDE controllers, right click on secondary IDE channel, then go to advanced settings tab and it will tell you.
