Hi all,
I want to backup a DVD containing 4 episodes of a tv show. The first episode on the DVD has some extra audio comments and is in a different VOB set than the rest. So this is what I did:
Removed all unwanted stuff using DVDShrink, backup without compression.
Demuxed the resulting VOBs (all 4 episodes are now in the same VOB set) using DGIndex.
Renecoded the mpeg stream using TMPGEnc.
Put everything back together (m2v, 2 AC3s) and made a menu using Sony DVD Architect.
This usually works perfectly fine. But with this DVD I get an audio delay exactly at the beginning of the 3rd episode, i.e. the audio sets in about 1500ms too early. And this delay only appears with the second audio track. The first one is perfectly synched! I checked the VOBs that DVDShrink produced and here the error does not occur.
Does anyone here have any ideas how to solve the problem? I already tried different tools to demux the VOBs but that didn't help. Then I created two AC3s for the audio track, one for the first two episodes and one for the second two episodes as well as the corresponding M2Vs. After remuxing the two parts seperately it worked. But then after joining the two parts (AC3s and M2Vs) to one big part containing everything and muxing the joined files the error came back.
How can I set a new delay for an AC3? And how can I join two AC3s with different delays so I can use this new AC3 for my authoring. Or do I have to put a few 'empty' frames at the beginning of the first AC3 (how would I do this?)?
I read the audio FAQ and searched the forum but so far nothing that I found did help :( Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA,
Syrinx.
