My Scenarist version 3.01 keeps on crasching. It crashes because of 100% CPU usage and it gives most of the time a access violation.
Does anyone know how I could fix this problem?

Many people here prefer to use 2.7

I suggest you contact Sonic support and see what they have to say. Have your dongle serial to hand.

Get rid of the 3.01 pdx version and go back to 3.0.0.96484

I believe the main reason for going from 3.0 to 3.01 was copying and pasting cell commands was severly knackerd in 3.0.

Scenarist can be really flakey, and as Arky suggests you may be better off going back to Scenarist 2.7.

Personally, I wish they still sold Scenarist SGI as I understand that was rock solid.

But do you have an SGI?

Are you capturing locally or via a network? If it is to a network you will always get problems bacause of the way it sends the packet info via the network. I capture locally now with no probs.

Yes,

And considering O2s are available 2nd hand for £200-300, so can anyone else.

Scenarist is one expensive bit of kit, yet can be incredibly flakey, especially since Sonic started tinkering with it. $17K and they still can't be bothered to fix AUDIO SREAMS....

As Crusty touched upon, authoring / doing anything over a network with scenarist can be problematic.

After some test with the pdx and dongle version, it seem that the problem come only with the pdx.

The pdx version is also very slowest than the dongle one. If you look into the task manager you see two scenarist running, only one with the original one.

May be someony has contact with pdx to try to solve the problem.

If I can help.

Please explain "pdx version" because I hope it's not what I think it is

Yes, it is the one that you think. The Pdx 3.01 version is very buggy. The 3.0 one is quite good. Besides what is new in 3.01 version is the ac3 trancoder only ( at least this is what they say in their release notes)

Well then I would suggest discussion regarding it be stopped at this point before anyone has to be handed out a strike for rule 6

OK then. We stop it here. (It seems that everybody here discussing techniques, tutorials and howtos, have actually bought Scenarist)

bought yes... hacked copies no.....

Scenarist discussion is ok....
Discussion of the downfalls of a pirated build isn't

no no.. don't get me wrong... that was all fine... just things started leaning more toward the problems w/ the pdx build
