Hello guy!before all excuse for my English..i can't speak it very well:p
I'm starting to encoding an anime video(from TV-Source and from DVD-Source),with autoGK...what is the best setting in advanced option(using Xvid codec)?Maybe checking "force cartoon mode" and check "force sharp MPEG matrix"?Thanks a lot ;)

I do NOT recomend cartoon mode for anime. Had bad experiences ripping Akira and Animatrix.
Should be suitable for poor-detailed anime, though

Any experience?
Sharktooth you say that "force sharp mpeg matrix" is not a good idea?

Thanks

Animatrix is a mix of CG, anime and other techniques so cartoon mode is not good for that.

I still suggest you to use cartoon mode for "pure" anime.
The sharp matrix was not designed for anime but when there is enaugh bitrate it could be good.

Ok thanks for the link.I found many useful help!My animes have quite high bitrate(some 1000Kbps,others over 1800)..i post here not for some problem but because i would have the best result with autoGK :D

well, if we are talking only abour AutoGK, I personally dont recommend cartoon mode because of my bad experiences with it, but maybe with such high bitrates there should be no difference (and cartoon mode "compresses" more).
Anyway when whe talk about anime I think the is much diference between old 70s and 80s ones and modern late90s and 00s ones. Also, as said on the thread Sharktooth points, pokemon is more similar to american cartoons (south park or the simpsons) but the more adult-oriented modern anime often uses "a mix of CG, anime and other techniques", which doesnt mean it is "better", we are just talking about the visuals, uh. Im not expert but I remember FLCL as a good example of this
