I am trying to find an easy method for making home movies and burning them on DVD so that they will play in a stand alone DVD player and can be watched on TV. I have XP and have been using Windows Movie Maker to edit the movies together. My final movie plays fine in Windows Media Player but the trouble comes when trying to convert over. I thought at first I might could incorporate DVD Decrypter v3.5.2.0 & DVD Shrink v3.2.0.15, but I figured out I needed another step first. So, I am using Advanced X Video Converter 3.9.21 and IfoEdit v0.971--all of which I believe are the latest versions. I have saved the movie in WMM in two separate "forms" DV-AVI and High Quality Video (NTSC). In all processes, I have been following the www.aoamedia.com's "Convert to DVD" guide. I choose "All to VCD/SVCD/DVD" in the Task window and in Video Type I choose "DVD - NTSC."
With the HQV-NTSC the conversion seems to take place smoothly. I then go to IfoEdit and choose the proper video file & audio file. I then have to highlight the audio file and choose English instead of the default of Deutch. I have a VIDEO_TS folder set up and empty that I send the IfoEdit files to. If I burn with Nero, the audio is coming out choppy, pitched too high, and in the locations where I have no narration nor music, the audio is ignoring the blank area and (for lack of a better term) scooting forward and going out of sync. If I go to DVD Shrink and preview the same VIDEO_TS folder, the audio is still choppy and pitched like we have inhaled helium, but it does not go out of sync.
After Advanced X Video finishes the DV-AVI conversion, I get an error message of "Too Many Frame Drops" and IfoEdit stops. (Sorry, I don't know how to take a snapshot of the log record to post to forum--I tried to copy & paste but it won't copy). But after multiplexing and it gets to 8% the log continues to read:
setting Video delay: 22254
setting Audio delay (0xC0): 25257
Stream E0:data will arrive too late. Current SCR 1217536, stream DTS: 0
It will have this message several times with only the SCR values changing. They are:

What is causing the change in audio? If anyone can help I would appreciate it. I know nothing about remux, et. al. the other "muxes." I also have Auto GK downloaded. (However I found DVD Shrink easier to use for making archival backup copies of movies I already own :) ) So, I haven't really played with it much.
Easy step by step instructions are appreciated. I am a mom of 5 and did not major in computer sciences in college. I am simply sifting my way through forums trying to reach my goal. I am also open to suggestions of software to make movie compilation & transfer to DVD easier.
