This mail was sent to me by support@paypal.com, I realized in a flash that this is fake (as so many) to take your credit card information.
I believe my mail was taken by someone who browses doom9 forum, I say this because I started getting mails after I showed on some post on DVD-rebuilder forum that I was using VIP version (which means I donated through paypal). My mail could easily be seen through my posts which it isn't the one I used on real paypal.

Heads up on this.

We regret to inform you that your paypal account could be suspended if you don't resolve your billing issues. If your billing is not updated your account will be put on hold.

If a hold should be placed on your account, you are prohibited from using Paypal in any way. until billing is updated. This includes registration of a new account. Please note that this suspension does not releive you of any fees you may owe to Paypal.

I'm sorry but i think that is just coincidence, you even say it your self no?
My mail could easily be seen through my posts which it isn't the one I used on real paypal.
that reminds me of Mo' in the the simpsons episode "The Blunder Years" right at the end.

I get these also, but if you have not posted the email address here how can you claim doom9 has anything to do with it?
Regards
cyph

forgot to mention that spam bots, do search google, and if you try you can view/search for posts on doom9 via google, maybe psoting your email was a bad idea, but i think thats as far as the relation goes with doom9.

I was not blaming doom9 at all!

But it could be a coincidence. Either way, it is an alert to anyone using paypal.

Cheers

Yeah, I got some of that crap too. Send the link to paypal so they can take care of them.

unless somebody hacks into the database, or you are careless enough to put your email address in a post, there's no way anyone can get your email via this board.

Yes, its good to get the information out there! some people might not think when opening emails like this, they really anoy me to!
for a clear way to find out when address you are on try https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&os=Windows&category=Privacy%20and%20Security&id=121
its pretty good, not really that complex but it shows you where you are.

My guess is there some phisher has ran a bot to harvest any email address it can,as a few people seem to be getting these?
i get them fro meverything from paypal to citybank (im not with this bank) normaly its jsut a random email, they don't know you have a paypal account (probably).

cyph
