In one tutorial I saw a little checkbox in the batch processing section that was called RB Opt support (skip PREPARE phase).

Later I read that that feature was only introduced for DVD-RB Pro users. So I just wanted to be clear.... will DVD-RB respect my RB settings for a project? That is if I prepare something, then save project (or save project, then prepare), then tweak with RB Opt, then run DVD-RB in batch mode, will it re-prepare the files, overwriting my RBOpt tweaked settings? I would think no, because the prepare has already been done and somehow DVD-RB can detect that, so would it just go ahead to encode and then rebuild?

I just read about people wishing for the feature, and I'm confused as to why it's necessary, unless DVD-RB in Batch mode ALWAYS prepares no matter what.

non-pro versions will run prepare phase in batch mode whether done before or not, which is why there is a new feature to skip the phase. As is said in the changelog it is for those whose use RB-Opt to change settings and then run the projects through batch mode. RB does save its settings in the project files, i like to change vbr_bias all the time and when i do run it batch mode these settings are saved in the respective project files.

Ok so currently there is no way to use RB in conjunction with RBOpt in batch mode? I guess I should get the Pro version....

Before the pro version, you would use RB-Opt's batch mode which was the only way you could batch process and skip prepare phase. It is possible with RB-Opt, not sure how though, tried to do it once but eventually gave up after a few mins, since i didnt get it and decided i didnt need tweaking with rb-opt anymore. Search around, im sure it's around here somewhere. Maybe someone else can point you in a specific direction.

I'm sorry, did you say RB Opt itself has a batch mode?

No, RB-Opt hasn't a batch mode (it doesn't encode the project).
I don't use batch mode, but I think only the Pro version has the support you need.

rb-opt doesnt have a batch mode? how would one skip prepare phase in batch processing before pro version? i could have sworn i saw someone say to use rb-opt. i guess i was hugely mistaken then, sorry about that.

Edit:
Searched around again and realize i meant to say "RB-Farm" instead of RB-Opt.
