Since there was a space issue while encoding thru AGK 1.93b(2CD-700 mb). Due to this i've got a single file for 1.36 GB.

I've decided to split the file in to 2 (700mb each) using avisplit and Nandub 2.01v, but i'm able to play the 2nd file only thru Divx DVD player not the 1st file.

What could be the reason for this? Is there any way to split the file using AGK?

Thanks in advance

Hello Sibi,

1/ Yes you can do it in AGK, use 2cds (1400Mb)as predefined size in step 3 of the inerface or you can split manually with Virtualdubmod (provided with AGK Install) :)

2/ If still problems with your standalone player (SAP) after that it will be time to give some infos on that SAP: brand model, chip inside ...

Good luck

Errr sorry, I can't answer to that.

Supposing your first cd plays fine in the pc and not in the SAP, you may, rpt you may have a file with a too high global bitrate.
Supposing also you have encoded with the .ess option (more compatible with the SAP having the ess chip)

The ess chip accepts a near instant bitrate of 4000 kbp/s. Roughly that give a global bitrate of 800 to 1000 kbp/s for the final avi; that can be checked with file info in VDmod or Gspot. SO if the first cd file bitrate is much higher than the second it could be the cause of your problem.

Supposing this is the cause, the answer is to lower the final bitrate until your SAP plays the file (get some cd-rw for testing).
One solution to lower the bitrate is to lower the final file size by step of 50 to 100 Mo, split, burn and try until you cd plays fine with no stutters.

All this is pure supposition because I don't have all the elements of your problem. To get more infos on these subjects use the search function for player, standalone, ess, bitrate, stutters hickup or related words.

Make tests on your own to find the solution or come back to the forum with more elements if you want more tips :)

Good luck
