I'm having trouble using agk to make an avi of a foreign film. I have read all posts covering this issue & have followed the instructions very carefully (Initially using dvd de-crypter, then agk). Everything goes smoothly up to the point where I need to select the subtitles. I am not getting an option to select any sub's & I'm not sure what the problem is. Am I supposed to rip the subtitle file separately using dvd decrypter or will it be automatically ripped with the video & sound files. I don't THINK the subtitle file is in the folder with the other ripped files but I'm not sure. I also tried using the "File" option on dvd decrypter to make sure I ripped all the files but still had the same problem. I have used another file converter (Dvd Ripper) to make an avi of the same film with sub's but the quality is very inferior to agk so really want to get it working. I am relatively new to agk & apologise if this is a very simple issue. Thank's in advance, TT.

Hi-

Am I supposed to rip the subtitle file separately using dvd decrypter

No. The subs are contained within the vob files. However, make sure you're using DVDDecrypter in IFO mode. It's not the default setting. Change it by going Mode->IFO.

Double-checked, I am already using IFO mode, still not getting the subtitle option :(

Here's something else to try; make sure you've turned on PGC and Angle naming in DVD Decrypter. For more information, please see Q 3.4 of the AutoGK FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72679)

What do you see in the stream info file? Any subs?

I've checked those settings, they are both ticked. The language file show's up ok but still nothing in the subtitle option.

what about my question?

Sorry Len0x, when you say "Stream info file", are you refering to the stream processing tab of dvd decrypter? If so, yes, sub's do appear there. If not, where should I be looking?

Sorry Len0x, your question appeared as I was replying to the previous response.

DVDDecrypter is producing a text file called "* - Stream Information.txt" in the same folder as vobs.

P.S. you're not using AutoGK in File mode, are you?

BTW, thank you both very much for taking the time & trouble to help me out. TT

No, I'm not in file mode. Yes, I can see sub's, to make it easy I'll cut & paste the file. 0x20 - Subtitle - English - [SubPicture 01: Wide] - [SubPicture 02: Letterbox] / LBA: 46163 / PTS: 00:02:33.280 / Delay: 152920ms
0x21 - Subtitle - English - [SubPicture 01: Letterbox] - [SubPicture 02: Wide] / LBA: 46164 / PTS: 00:02:33.280 / Delay: 152920ms
0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / Français / LBA: 35 / PTS: 00:00:00.280 / Delay: -79ms
0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x576 (PAL) / 16:9 / Letterboxed / LBA: 1 / PTS: 00:00:00.360 / Delay: 0ms

[SubPicture 01: Wide] - [SubPicture 02: Letterbox]

That's the culprit on both lines. If you paste the whole line in a stream info txt, autogk will cease to see subs. Why there are 2 subpictures in one subtitle stream beats me though, I've never seen this before. Possibly you could manually delete one of the 2 [subpicture] in each line, this will make the subs appear, but I have no idea if it'll encode properly. Maybe someone who knows about it can answer you better, plus this is only a workaround, really, even if it works.

FYI teddytora, this is what a "usual" sub stream info would look like:
0x20 - Subtitle - Chinese - [SubPicture 01: Normal] / LBA: 1872652 / PTS: 00:00:03.908 / Delay: 3536ms
0x21 - Subtitle - English - [SubPicture 02: Normal] / LBA: 1872654 / PTS: 00:00:03.908 / Delay: 3536ms

It is the first time I see such a stream info file. Which DVDDecrypter are you using? Manual correction should work ok as its just labels...

I'm using 3-5-2-0 , so should I a. uncheck one of the sub options on the dvd decrypter stream procesiing tab or b. edit the stream information text file?
