Is it possible ? (Except Recode)

Only with Recode.
Neither MP4box (GPAC) or MPEG4ip and related derivates support it as input.
VLC sure doesn't.
ffmpeg: I doubt.
The above does not differ from info found in the MP4-FAQ thread... ;)

The MP4-FAQ is not always up-to-date (example:Haali Splitter), MP4 is moving fast these days.

vobsubs can atm only be placed in .mp4 via recode2

Isn't it possible to convert VobSubs into MPEG-4 TTXT files?

Sure it is. Convert the VobSubs to srt and then with MP4Box too TTXT. But there are not many players beside Osmo4 which play them.

I mean, isn't ttxt completely MPEG-4 ISO standard, meaning that Quicktime Player, VLC and other players that support MPEG-4 all the way can play them? What tools do I need to convert into srt? Is it possible to convert from srt to ttxt with MP4Box+MP4BoxGUI?

If you add a srt file to a MP4 file with MP4Box it will automatic converted to TTXT. MP4Box -add sub.srt -add audio.aac video.mp4 -out out.mp4
To convert VobSub to srt look at www.doom9.net ->Guides.
It is MPEG-4 ISO standard but not many players support the complete Mpeg 4 standard (impossible). Qucktime dosen't support much at the moment. From VLC(8.1) you will get:
main error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `tx3g'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.
main debug: killing decoder fourcc `tx3g', 0 PES in FIFO

as i wrote already pretty often: vlc, realplayer should be able to play ttxt already, but they dont work correctly
What tools do I need to convert into srt?:readguid: :search: converting dvd subtitles (vobsubs) to .srt is as old as dvd ripping itself ;)
Is it possible to convert from srt to ttxt with MP4Box+MP4BoxGUI?mp4box converts .srt subs directly to ttxt when importing srt to .mp4
i dunno if mp4boxgui exposes this option in the gui already

You can mux them with mp4muxer together with your Audios and videos. http://mp4muxer.movie2digital.com/

What about the VLC nightly builds? They're much more up to date. Hey mezzanine, you possibly know if srt will be converted to ttxt with MP4BoxGUI? In the GUI it says that it can accept srt as input, but I'm not sure if it converts or just direct stream copy the file.

You donīt use it correct then - I donīt know anything about bugs left. But remember, that it is very fresh tool in the moment.
