I've got a Denon DVD-2200 which I love. However I've read on some other sites that it can be VERY picky when it comes to playing DVDR media. I have no been successfuly at finding people who have a Denon player (let alone mine) and have found DVD Media and a player that work well with it. So this question goes out to preferably anyone with a Denon DVD-2200, but I'll take answers from any Denon owner, or from someone who has experience.

1) What type of DVD Media is found to work well in this player?
2) Is there a certain type of DVDR Drive that is needed to work reliably in a Denon player?

I just want to know what I need to have to have things work well with my player.

Thanks!

That helps. From reading there a couple users said that things work best if you burn at only 2X speed.

I have tried to set things to 2X (I usually burn with DVD Decrypter) but even though in the menu I have it set to 2X, it still actually writes at 4X. Anyone know why this is the case?

Is there another very good and very reliable Burning software that I should be using to burn at 2X speed?

Again, my burner is a Plextor PX-716SA (Serial ATA).

Thanks

Decrypter is a VERY GOOD & VERY RELIABLE burning software. You have a heck of a 16x burner and want to burn @2x??? Just make sure you obtain quality medias.....

P.S. quality=usually not cheap

The ONLY reason I want to burn 2X is because my Denon seems to like (from what Ive read) burns at that lower speed. 4X is OK. I've tried things on 8X before and it flat out won't work.

Glad to hear about DVD Decrypter, I will continue to use that!

Denon's costs 4-5 times more than a decent player and yet won't play a >2x burn......

Just what brand of media are you using???

Other reviewers @videohelp seem to have no problems with 8x speed burns..?

...............TDK's not bad....

Test this yourself: instead of backing up The Last Samurai the mumbo jumbo way with scene aid, try it with DVDshrink chop-chop reauthor method and play through Denon?

I suspect that your current re-mastering method is troubled....
