I've got some video of a film, but some moron's just converted it to 29.97fps so I have blended frames! Ewwy!

What way should I go around getting it back to 24fps? It's black & white, and it's DivX or XviD - can't remember which one.

Does the video follow the standard NTSC 3:2 telecine pattern? (3 progressive frames followed by 2 interlaced frames) If so then Telecide() and Decimate() should do the job nicely (part of the decomb package).

If it's just deinterlaced and left at 29.97fps, there's not much you can do as the original field structure is forever lost.

So there's no way at all of getting it back? What about Restore24 - could that help in this kind of situation, or is designed only for interlaced material?

Restore24 won't help you here. Deinterlacing destroys the original structure so it's impossible to repair it without causing jerkiness etc. Your best bet might be trying Decimate().

@zilog jones: try this.

(btw.: the game footage is PAIN to deinterlace!)

I kind of should have thought that you have at least tried repairing such stuff:D

Thought so :D

I still haven't even finished uploading that first video yet! I swear I'll do it more often... though I can't log in right now...

I tried it with a short section of it, but I guess I started on the wrong frame or something as it looked seriously b0rked - weird ghosting on nearly every frame. And it's quite slow, though my PC is also quite slow (P3-933MHz)!
