View Full Version : multiple bitrate encoding?

With Windows Media Encoder, and Helix Producer Plus, it is possible to encode
live from a video capture card in multiple bitrates (in Real it's called
"SureStream"). That is to say, the final file will contain a video stream at
say 256k, and another copy of the same video but at 1mbit per second or so.

Is there a utility for Linux (like mencoder, mpeg4ip tools etc) that will │
allow you to do the same thing for XviD. Not necessarily encode to the same
container/file, but even to two seperate files at the same time with the
_exact_ same content?
.
Cheers.
