Hey, I'm going to be needing a new spindle soon and I'm wondering what a good brand of disc is to get. I don't really care about compatability or speed, just longevity and price. I've been using Ritek's G03's (I think, the 1x ones) for a long time, but now that DVD-R's are coming down in price (for instance I saw Memorex DVD-R's at Wal-Mart), I'm thinking maybe it wouldn't hurt to switch brands. Any thoughts?

Memorex don't make their own dvd's, so you never know what you'll be buying with them. The last memorex I used turned out to be ricoh's. In terms of affordable dvd-r's, I've always used Ritek's, although I was a bit sketched out by the new g05's, so I started buying Taiyo Yuden's 8x, and so far they have been great, very HQ.

cool, My burner is old school and only does 2x anyway. Heard anything bad about the G04's or is it just the G05's?
