Howdy,

I've been trying to get a handle on how to encode using XviD. I've encoded a few movies, with mostly good results, using GK. I just read "The Unofficial XviD FAQ" (http://ronald.vslcatena.nl/docs/xvidfaq.html), and it claims that GK shouldn't really be used for encoding since it doesn't support all the settings. Any opinions on this? Assuming I don't want to mess with any complicated settings (read, I'm new to this), will GK perform adequately?

Joseph

That's outdated info. Latest GK supports the latest XviD.

Do not forget to open automatic update in GK ,,so you can have the latest versions all the time...(I mean GK informs you that there is a newer version of it 'n you can download it)

Yeah ,, You are right about confusing..Auto GK says you just there is a newer version only If you have internet connection at that time when program runs..
