I did a search but i can't seem to find what i'm looking for. i have some large files that i want to compress with autoGK into divx form but it won't accept the file type. It is a "video clip" but autoGK only accepts avi etc.
thanks for the help

What type of video clip is it? AutoGK will encode your video into a .avi but accepts a variety of file types including, mpeg's, recorded transport streams, and .vob's there are probably others but these I have tested myself. It also supports feeding it ripped DVDs.

hi
well i use beyond TV and everytime it records a show, it pumps it out as a "movie clip". it has the ending mpg. I thought mpg's were quite common as video formats. Right now the shows are around 3.5 gigs, i'de like to get them down to the 700 MB range. why won't gordian knot let me import this type of file? what can i do to make it work? Thanks for any help.

Hi-
First you said you wanted to use AutoGK, and then you said that you tried to open it in GKnot. I don't know why AutoGK won't accept your .mpg stream, except that it may be some sort of proprietary .mpg. But you should be able to get it to open in GKnot if you first make a Movie.d2v Project File using DGIndex. DGIndex is included with Gordian Knot.

Make sure it's an mpeg2, not mpeg1.
