I happened upon a link of the newest possible VLC for pocket PC (nightly). I hear this thing can play anything.

I just haven't got it to work, and there are no docs.

I am not familiar with the program, so cannot help you with it.

But--are you familiar with Betaplayer? It is a free media player for Pocket PC or Smartphone that WILL play anything, and do it well.

I forget the URL for downloading it, but if you go to Corecodec (http://www.corecodec.com), go to forums, to the Betaplayer forum, you will find links to download it, as well as great support.

Ah, thanks.

Yeah, I'm already familiar with betaPlayer, as I use it quite a bit myself. It's truly a remarkable program. The speed... I can decode and play DivX files with MP3 sound at 104mhz. 104. I have a 300mhz computer on which I can't play a darned thing. Scary, eh?

Maybe optimized boot CD with linux and a player could do the trick :)
