I see many post about this question. Actualy I use beslip to convert DTS-WAV to DTS. After I use Hypercube to obtain 6 mono wav converted to 48khz. And finnaly use Surcode to get final DTS file.

there is anoother way (something more automated) to do this ?

Objective: Put various DTS CDs into a DVD !!!

Thanks !!(sorry for bad english)

i've written a batch-file that totally automates it (except for besweet not always being able close surcode; also needs a tool to automatically close the intervideo video-filter dialoge of azidts)
i can post the file if you like

thx E-Male

I will share it as batch file with the hint to the path thing - maybe I could motivate my brother to do some coding .... :D ;)

ok

one more thing:

if you have the DTS-CD or image you an use isobuster to get the dtswav, but it'll make one file per track

anyone knows an alternative?

EAC -> it will create a CUE-file on the image or cut it track by track

i never got eac to read dtswav without destroying it
maybe i just used wrong settings, so it didn't rip bit-exact

Select the track(or Tracks) and press F5(Copy Selected Track-> Uncompressed). Its works !!
If i get a time i make a gui in vb for this batch ! heheheh

foobar can read dts-wav (rename to .dts)
i think it can save it to 6ch-wav

sunzehao

foobar cant convert dtswav to 6ch wav either :(
is there any other way to convert dtswav to 6ch wav?

just rename your DTS-WAV (.wav) to lets say .wav.dts (actually .dts is enough ;) )
then Case's foobar2000 plugin http://www.saunalahti.fi/cse/foobar2000.php
(the special installer package includes version 0.0.9 of the plugin)
should handle the playback and even transcoding of dts-wav streams (dts 1236 kbit/s @ 44.1kHz) just like the ordinary "raw" dts streams (dts 768 or 1536 kbit/s @48kHz).

As for the extraction (losslessly of course, similar to the extraction of a mp3 inside an AVI) of the dts stream out of the WAVE, Besplit 0.9 Beta 7 can only handle NON-open-bitrate "marked" streams correctly. The older "open-bitrate" DTS-WAVs are processed but the result is rubbish (mostly stutter and too fast).

But there might be hope on the horizon: the mkvtoolnix package can at least detect dts info inside a WAVE, now the tool only lacks the ability to extract the dts-stream and put it into a matroska container (.mka). If that can be done, the included "mkvextract" tool could be used to demux the dts stream out of the matroska file ---->

RESULT: a "raw" dts stream without the WAVE "compatibility coat"

ADVANTAGE:

- no more extra filters for DTS-WAV as it would be raw now
- alot more decoders / transcoders could be used as it would be a "normal" dts now
- transodings like DTS 5.1 CD ---> DVD-Audio (5.1 PCM @ 44.1kHz) would be easier
- etc.

Downside: - a little more complicated (matroska interim file), than the usage of just one tool

cya

hi E-Male,

Thanxs for your .bat file works like charm thumbs Up!

Just a note, in my set-up i had to change the channel order to this:

echo u:\dtstempmono\%1---FL.wav > u:\dtsmux\%1.mux
echo u:\dtstempmono\%1---FR.wav >> u:\dtsmux\%1.mux
echo u:\dtstempmono\%1---C.wav >> u:\dtsmux\%1.mux
echo u:\dtstempmono\%1---LFE.wav >> u:\dtsmux\%1.mux
echo u:\dtstempmono\%1---SL.wav >> u:\dtsmux\%1.mux
echo u:\dtstempmono\%1---SR.wav >> u:\dtsmux\%1.mux

del u:\dtstempmono\%1---FL.wav
del u:\dtstempmono\%1---FR.wav
del u:\dtstempmono\%1---C.wav
del u:\dtstempmono\%1---LFE.wav
del u:\dtstempmono\%1---SL.wav
del u:\dtstempmono\%1---SR.wav

greetz,

nicky-lois :-)

for DTS-CDs i had to do the chnnel order as it is in the batch-file
tested it with a selfmade test file
it's the reason i do it in so many steps and not just with beesweet in one go

hi E-Male,

Okay i found out why i had to change the channel order.
I was using an older iviaudio.ax version.
Now with iviaudio.ax 6.0.6.56 the channel order is like you said :-)

greetz,

nicky-lois :-)

.. and almost half the size of the original...;)

VLC also can outstream to a pcm 6ch wav(or dump to dtswav) file. But with no need to change the extention(.wav) to decode.

What is better with it is that It can read the dts-cd directly(daemon-tools) per track(1~x) or entirely(0).

And the dtswav decoding seems more stable.
