MenuShrink Version 1.0 is here!

Version 1.0 has the following new features:

Menu intros and outros can now be entirely skipped (most of them!) for a much smoother navigation. Thanks to blutach for the idea!
A slider to select which frame to use in the still menus (replaces the first/last/largest options in Beta 0.800)
A new "Soft DVD Player" button that can open the output DVD in a soft player (not all of them though, see user manual). Thanks Orion|69 for his help!
Four user-definable "hot keys" (F1-F4) to open the output DVD with your favorite tools. See the user manual for how to set that up.

along with a couple bug fixes.

Here's the change log.

UI:

Added a slider to select the still frame.
Added a toggle to skip or not skip buttonless cells (menu intros/outros).
Added user-definable hot keys F1 through F4. Requires editing the .ini file.
Added a Soft DVD Player button.
Added caption to Log Panel.
Added New icon. Thanks Emile!
Added message in red when error.
Added the OneSecondStill option in the INI file. Only set to 1 if your settop box freezes on very short<> cells (jsoto's thomson player does!).

Engine:

Added code to skip a cell if it has no buttons, no cell command and a cell immediately following it in the PGC. This entirely skips many buttonless menu intro/outro.
The cell elapsed time is now corrected in the VOB files.
The button info is now back-propagated to the first NavPacks. Fixes the preview problem with PgcEdit
The end presentation time of the vobu is now adjusted for a 1-VOBU cell with no buttons. This makes the cell play much faster (in fact, it's invisible on my settop).
Simplified processing when I-frame didn't have enough room for end-of-sequence and padding code.

Bug Fixes:

The video format (PAL/NTSC) was not updated when a new DVD was loaded. This is fixed.
Fixed crash when the number of VTS was larger than 23.

The idea was suggested by blutach: it's based on the idea of going to PgcEdit, double clicking on the PGC and changing the VCID from 1/1 to 2/1 (for example).
In other words, I copy the cell info that's in the second PGC cell (the useful menu with buttons) into the first PGC cell. So the first PGC cell now points to 2/1 (for example) has the cell time, the cell command etc that was associated with the second cell and you end up with 2 identical PGC cells in a row.
That's not without its dangers, as pointed out by r0lZ, because it's possible for the second cell to have either a cell or a button command leading into the "next cell", this next cell normally being the third one. So in some cases, you can see a repeat of cell 2: you push on a menu button but you find yourself where you started. If you push again then you go where you meant to go.
I thought the benefits of cell skipping outweighed the dangers, so I implemented the idea. I've found 1 instance of a repeat in Finding Nemo (you hear the 3-second dialog twice, instead of once in the original menu)...

Orion|69, there's this guys here (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=240073#post240073)that can't get it to work (even if he opens a DOS window and types in the path and everything, PowerDVD starts but does not open the DVD)! Any idea what the matter could be?

PowerDVD do not have the command line support.
WinDVD 6 has, at least, this support.

My advice: install PowerDVD or WinDVD (not both), but don't use them. You need to install a DVD player just for the codecs.

Use Media Player Classic (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/) instead. It is more powerful, and has a neat interface, not those horrible skins! You do not need to read the docs just to find where is the play button! :devil:

PowerDVD 6 can open and run by double clicking any IFO. Jean has implemented it in MenuShrink.

Noted. The last version of PowerDVD I have tested was v5. At this time, there was no command line support.

That is correct.. in v5 it didnt work. In 6 it should work like a breeze. That it doesnt work for that particular dude jeanl, means there's probably something wrong with his setup.

I had it tested by more people and they all said it worked just fine.
So there is nothing wrong with your code, nor PowerDVD 6 ability to open up a VIDEO_TS.IFO. Neither for MPC, works in here too like a breeze.

Nero spokesman's here to report that SHOWtime can also be launched. The MenuShrink is so idiotproof is scary....:D I can test till the cows come home with the sliders. Version two with menu preview?

this may sound stupid as no-one else has mentioned it and i could be wrong but when i goto the menushrink page and click on "Download Version 1.0 here!" the file downloaded is beta 0.800, what's going on?
