Support for freeframe?

I just stumbled upon this thing called freeframe, which is billed as an "open-source cross-platform real-time video effects plugin system".

There seem to be a lot of neat video effects on there, and could add some interesting new features to avisynth's arsenal.

These plugins seems nice! But how do they work? Freeframe is just a framewoek, right? You still have to add specific functions to make it a Premiere plugin, etc?

If you are using premiere pro, I believe you can already use these effects. Premiere pro is compatable with most After Effects plugins, and Pete Warden has written a host for After Effects: http://www.petewarden.com/
