I got bored and decided to update my old Smart Deinterlacer filter. I understand some people still use it. :p
I've added edge-directed interpolation. This can significantly reduce stairstepping ("jaggies") in deinterlaced picture areas. Of course, EDI can introduce its own artifacts, but usually the gains outweigh the losses if you can afford the added processing time.
