View Full Version : 6ch AAC file conversion -> OGG
I have a sequence of AAC files I need to convert to Ogg format (because AAC gives my system fits and causes it to crash is one reason). Anyhow My problem is that foobar2000 recognizes the file as a 2ch file that is 2 times the time length. IE 6ch 24:30 is recognized as 2ch 51:00. Suggestions on what to use to convert this it a 6channel wave or AC3 file? or anything I can actually use?
Thanks!

Solved the problem
faad -d -o <whatever the name> <whatever the input>
-d is downmatrix which does the stereo conversion.
This does make a monsterous file though.
foobar2000's AAC decoder is for stereo files only thus cannot be used for AAC/SBR 6ch conversion to 2ch vorbis.
Converting to 6ch vorbis doesn't make much sense because 1 it's will be huge 2 it will just just that 6 channels, who knows how it will be played if at all, correctly.
I then converted the files to Ogg using foobar2000 from wav (wee)
