Alright, I'm trying to convert an avi to DVD as per this guide:
http://www.doom9.org/mpg/avi2dvdr.htm

I'm at the part where you have to convert the wav to an ac3 file using AC3Machine:
http://www.doom9.org/ac3machine.htm

Now here's the problem... when I hit the "Give me AC3!" button, a DOS box flashes on the screen and then... nothing. No progress indicator, no output file, nothing. Just the same AC3Machine window as if I had not hit the button at all.

Here's what I've done to try and fix the problem (and failed) already...
1) Made sure the path to BeSweet.exe was the correct one.
2) Made sure I have the msvbvm60.dll file in my system folder, and copied it to my BeSweet folder just incase.
3) Tried fooling around with some of the options, although I'm pretty sure they were fine the first time (according to the guide anyways).

Exact same result everytime though... I read in a few places already not to bother posting without a copy of the log file, and I'd be happy to, but it wasn't generated. In it's place I've attatched a screenshot of the options I'm using. Maybe that'll help.

(Obviously I have no idea what I'm doing since the image isn't showing up... but rest assured the settings are as the guide indicates)

Here's my system specs if needed...
Windows XP Pro SP2 w/all Windows updates
AthlonXP 1600+
ECS K7S5A mobo
768MB DDR266
ATi Radeon 8500 (standard, 64MB)
WD 80GB w/8MB cache
Maxtor 40GB
HP 9100 CD Burner
Pioneer 106 DVD Burner
Driver/Firmware updates for all components checked once a month

TIA for any help you can give me!

Hi and welcome to the forums,

Attached images have to be validated first, it is now.

I don't see anything wrong from your screenshot, and since no log file is created it's difficult to diagnose. Try copying the commandline from the AC3Machine window to a dos command emulator (start > run > "cmd") and post the resulting output.

Thanks for the info on the image... I am becoming more learned by the second. :)

Alright, I did what you said and ran it in DOS, and again got no result. I typed in the command line as shown in AC3Machine, hit enter and boom!... nothing. Just brought me back to the folder path I was in.

I do know a wee bit of DOS already, and there was something in there that looked a little fishy. Why would you have two 'dashes' before the inputing sample rate ( --rate 48000 )? Well regardless, I tried both ways and got the same result: Nothing.

Attached is the screenshot from the DOS box.
