Hi all,

I'm new to this DVD ripping thing, and have tried to read all the guides, and google for an answer, but still can't find one. Pardon me if there is already an answer somewhere. It'll be great if you could direct me to it. Thanks!

My friend recorded a short performance onto a DVD, and I ripped the .iso off it. I'm able to load the .iso onto a virtual drive and watch it. However, I need to convert this clip of the performance into .avi and .mpg.

Am I able to convert this .iso, that I have in my harddrive now, into a .avi or a .mpg? I haven't be able to find an answer so far, and I've tried almost all the guides on the internet, but they didn't seem to have the solution.

Thanks again!

Burn it back onto a DVD and then rip it again in file or movie mode. That's what I would do, newbie that I am. Maybe it's possible to rip from an ISO, but I never heard of anyone doing it. Newbies rule!

four_arrows,

as you have already noticed, when you load the .iso into a virtual drive it behaves as if it is an actual phyiscal dvd. from this, as neuron2 states, you can easily re-rip the 'virtual dvd' in file/ifo mode etc. using dvd decrypter, or use any number of other tools for format conversion.

good luck

a program to use for creating virtual drives would be deamon tools...

Thanks guys, for replying.

The problem is, the original dvd, and thus the ISO file that I have, does not have a "Video_TS" folder. That's why I didn't originally use the File mode in DVD Decypter to rip the dvd. I don't know why, could be a problem from the recorder that was used to record the performance/show. How can I circumvent this problem? Or is there no way at all?

Thanks much!
