I backuped one DVD movie using DVD+R disc by Nero diskcopy fucntion. After successful copy, the memu can be played but the main movie can't be played.
I also diskcopy one DVD-RW to DVD+R disk. After copy, small size data can be read, but large video file can't be played.
Does the disc can't be duplicate from - to + or + to -? Is it possible to duplicate disk from + to + or - to -?

Yeah, I wouldn't think it would be a good idea to do a direct disc 2 disc from a - to + or vice versa....there is some difference in the data format (although, beyond the book settings, I don't know what they are specifically). Doing a direct copy from a - to a - works fine for me though, always has. If you want to do a + to - or something, just rip it to an image file or something first, then burn.

I haven't experienced such an issue but I doubt this has got anything to do with plus to minus or vice versa issue. Think of it, a bit of info is a bit of info. Blaze88, I would recommend that you verify your backup to make sure that you have been successful or not. Nero's Showtime(player) which you already have is quite stringent in checking the dvd structure. Another trick I have tried is to use DVDshrink to check, open the dvd folder, if there's any problem, it will let you know :p .

If anyone has interest, try this:
Write a AVI file about 200M to -R disk(make sure it can be played in -R disk), then diskcopy to +R disc. After successul copy, run this AVI file from +R disc or copy the file from +R disc to harddisk then run it. It will show the file can't be played.
Does anyone have other situation?

uh-oh, diskcopy as in the old days of diskcopying floppies? A to A? Hmmm, interesting, sounds like the +r structural info is also passed on to the -r or vice versa. I will sacrify one -r disk to kill the cat.

Was it an ORIGINAL movie or a store bought one? Nero will not bypass the anti-copying protection if it exists on the disc!
