I have a problem with multi-channel ogg vorbis. I encoded a 6channel speaker test .ac3 file (the one that says “left front, center...lfe”) using BeSweet. When I play it with winamp it sounds exactly as the original (if i first select in the input-->Nullsoft vorbis decoder--> remap 6 channels correct(FL FC FR SL SR LFE). If I check “leave as is” I hear “left front” correct, “center” from the right front speaker, “right front” from the center speaker, “right surround” from the back left speaker, “left surround” from the subwoofer (yes I hear a hollow “left surround” coming from the sub) and although I hear the man saying “lfe” from the front left speaker which is the correct I cannot hear the bass from the sub(because I think its remaped to the back right speaker which cannot play low frequencies).
However the real problem is that when I play the file using BSplayer 1.2 I hear only left front, right front and lfe(I only hear the man saying “lfe” from the front left speaker but not the bass from the sub) from the correct speakers. I can’t hear center, left surround, right surround and bass. I checked all the settings in bsplayer but I didn’t find anything.
Please help because I want to start using ogg vorbis 5.1 for dvd ripping.

I use ogg directshow v0.9.9.5. I cannot find any settings for downmixing. And in the vorbis decoder properties it says 6 channels but i hear only two.

Where can i find other filters and which do you think i should try. And how can i choose which to use in bsplayer.

I tried something today. I ripped a dolby digital 36 second video (the one with the mountains). Then I encoded the video with xvid and I made the sound multichannel ogg vorbis. I played the sound file with bsplayer and I had the same problem. But when I merged the sound with the video and played the matroska file with the same player everything sound correctly. Why is this happening?

thats why i said you should try other filters
eg uninstall 0.9.9.5 and try playing your file in "media player classic"
