D-Link (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=82-103-601&depa=0)
I use AutoGK 1.91 with cbr mp3 128kb and everything else is on default settings.
I record a lot of video and use AutoGK to shrink to 300MB per hour. Does anybody have this player and if so, how well does it play Xvid files?

i had it and got something else after 1 month. i wouldn't recommend it. very choppy playback on xvids. i have the pinnacle showcenter now, still not very happy, but a lot better than the dlink. dlink plays mpeg-2's fine, but not mpeg-4's. pretty sure dlink is software based decoding for mpeg-4 so that slows it down, where shownceter has the sigma chip so mpeg-4 decoding is doen on the hardware level. but don't get the showcenter either, i'm looking for something better myself.

does it make it harder because I make the files so small? 300mb /hr, or does it make it easier to decode because of less info?
And thanx, I will hold off on the D-Link and find something else.

I started this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=87751) about such devices in January.
I was hoping to add more info but sadly have not got around to it yet :(
I wonder if anybody on the forum has tried the European version of the ADS device?
Cheers
