ScenAid 1.5

Build status / changes will be kept here in this thread as the application is updated

Build 20:

Fixes bugs in the BoV routines causing the interface to error out when certain conditions where met
Fixed a bug in the interface causing the Layout/Asset bar to disappear
Change in the way dummied cells are created - now dummied cells are created as slideshows w/ the duration set to the cell length in the .ifo

Build 17:

subtitle scanner routines have been completely redesigned resulting in much faster scanning of sst files and more accurate subtitle placement
An option to enable/disable detailed subtitle logging has been added- (when disabled, sst scanning is even faster)
Highlight/BOV engine has been completely redesigned resulting in more accurate BoV
Interface layout has been redesigned and now includes an AVS Preview window, AVS File viewer (soon to be editor), Chapter Location viewer
The start of Bitrate / Asset select/de-selection - Bitrate is currently ONLY visual but will allow the user to see what eliminating certain assets will do to the bitrate
Support for Trahald’s BatchEncodeM2V has been added

MANY Fixes have been resolved

Audio dummy routines have been updated which will prevent the application error stating "Can't find file"
Overall application stability has been improved and now has more detailed logging
NO-CCE files are now more accurately scanned resulting in less frame change warnings
Support for assets labeled *.AVS-NO-CCE (only seen in newer Doitfast4u builds) has been added
Assets that are smaller then allowed sized are now logged and auto dummied - limits the need to manually delete/unselect no-cce files

A more detailed changelog will be posted on the ScenAid website shortly.
Current Known issues are:

At times cells apparently use different subtitle palettes. Currently Scenarist will error on mux if this found
The new Sony Arccos protection is causing issues w/ some disks (so far only the Grudge has been an issue) - a little bit of manual work is currently needed for these disks to work properly
If Scenarist 3.0 is used with BoV, it's possible to have issues w/ Highlights if the Stops are removed. This will be very shortly resolved

All new builds will be announced here after being made available at http://scenaid.com

As always if you have any problems, please post them here. Also remember, I can't be of much help if you delete your project before/after posting an issue

In the version 1.5b10 , it worked without problems.
Can you help me along?

I believe I found the issue.....

It appears that your demux may not have a subtitle associated to this highlight..

I've added a routine to check for this and will send you a new build to test...

If you could though, please send me the .bdx and .bov files along with your Scenaid.log (from this new build)

Thanks

Ok,its done

I see the problem..

you are still using the old version of vsrip that came w/ doitfast4u.... this build needs the newer version thatcomes with scenaid (if you didn't copy it over before it should be in the ScenAid Install directory....)

I'll consider adding it back in to allow the old version however the accuracy of the subtitles / highlights depends on the new version

You'll have to re-rip this demux w/ the new version of vsrip in place to get the correct subtitles

Is there any thoughts on implanting a feature where you can rip the unwanted extras before the encoding starts (which is the only reason I still use R.A)?

But I suppose I could still use R.A for that, and use ScenAid for scripting.

Error Source: ErrorHandler
Error Line: 1480

I just downloaded and installed ScenAid 1.5, and on my same project Goldmember, it scans and builds a script without an error, but when I get into Scenarist and create a new project from script, it goes for a little while and then errors out.

It then errors while "Restoring Links" is going on. Should I do a new demux etc and try again?

With the old version, I was having some troulbe with the buttons being created. I believe I found the problem, but am unsure of the solution. The buttons for some reason are created and attached to PGC1 by the ScenAid script. PGC2 is the infinifilm BOV movie. How can I change PGC1 and PGC2 to make them right?

Wouldn't I have to recreate both PGCs and buttons by hand? Or is there some trick I don't know yet?

Thanks for your patience..

I ran into an interesting problem when I tried ScenAid 1.5.

When encoding finishes, and it opens up Scenarist, the program errors out and gives a "report bug" window. I tried running things manually and the same thing happened.

I uninstalled Scenaid 1.5 and put 1.0 back on and it seemed to work OK.

The error log is HUGE and I am not completely sure what caused it. Something in the script or scn file? Ill try to find more info. Has anyone else encountered this?

D3s7
5th March 2005, 18:13
The automate_scenarist that comes w/ 1.0 doesn't report when there's a problem with the script...

I need the .SCP from1.5 and the ScenAidXX_Import.log from 1.5's import in order to troubleshoot anything

Hi,

I have just noticed something strange. Import the scenaid script in Scenarist and would like to compile.

Scenarist gives me the following error...

Info
Info Creating DVD Video files
Error The track "dummy_VTS_Track" has place holder.
Error The track "dummy_VTS_Track" has place holder.
Error PreCheck From DB failed.
Error DVD Video files could not be created

I check the place holder and the path to the scenaid folder is correct.
Import the pal_dummy manually in Scenarist and then the following error comes:

Warning 00:00:00;00 is not GOP start in MPEG video file "D:\ScenAid\dummy_pal_169.m2v"
Error D:\ScenAid\dummy_pal_169.m2v
Error : Frame rate (3 = reserved) is wrong.
Warning : Number of SequenceEndCode is 0.

Both pal_dummys (4:3 and 16:9), shows in Scenarist as NTSC with 720x480.

I will check the dummies...i might have encoded them wrong when I made the stills

Sorry for not-answering, but my computer made a lot of crap the last couple days.

All my errors are gone, cause I don´t have any files.
I will do the job again the next days and I think I can reproduce the error. :D

I get this errormessage from Scenarist:

Error Cell "VTS1_Title9_PGC9_PG31_C1" and Cell "VTS1_Title9_PGC9_PG1_C1" in PGC "VTS1_Title9_PGC9" use different color palettes. Please use one color palette for all tracks in the same PGC.
Error PreCheck From DB failed.
Error DVD Video files could not be created

Prior to that, Scenaid crashed at the first attempt. When I tried it again, it seemed to ignore the error and everything was fine. Importing to Scenarist was successful. I got the error just after I pressed "Start"

Does this have to do with the known issue of different palettes in Scenaid? :confused:

/Thanks, B

D3s7
13th March 2005, 18:58
The error in Scenarist does yes... I have corrected that error and will be releasing a new build fairly soon..

I'm not sure why the application would have crashed though... if it happens again, please let me know what the error message is

bagge1

Scenaid makes this error:

Procedure Name: FindBitrates
Module Name: Bitrates

Error Number: 53
Error Description: File not found
Error Source: ScenAid
Error Line: 530
Call Stack:
FindBitrates --> Bitrates
ProcessDIF --> Form1
DIF_Browse_Click --> Form1

This happens every time I run Scenaid on a "fresh" doitfast4u demux. The second time I run it, I get no error.

This is beginning to confuse me more and more. The problems began some days ago when I upgraded numenu4u and scenaid, in order to be able to use CCE 2.70 (and batchencodem2v). The process is much more instable now and I can't even breath at the computer when its working. I've disabled Automate_Scenarist because it only worked like every second time I used it. Instead, I had to go through the Scenarist steps manually. I've tried to upgrade - downgrade the different software to figure out where the problem lies. Sometimes, I tried to encode the menus with CCE 2.67 and the movie with 2.70. That actually worked in one case.

I might try to reinstall the old versions I used, or is there any other workaround I can use in the meantime? :confused:

/Thanks, Bagge

In all of my recent encodes this file is being created -> VTS_04_VSUB_P1A1-00-English.forced.sst (different filename for different VTSes of course). When I open it, it contains:
===========================
st_format 2
Display_Start forced
TV_Type PAL
Tape_Type NON_DROP
Pixel_Area (0 573)
Directory E:\dvd_images\originals\needs_reencoding\GUNDAM_WING_OPERATION_THREE\VTS04\subs\VTS_04_VSUB_P1A1-00-F
Subtitle VTS_04_VSUB_P1A1-00-English.forced
Display_Area (0 2 719 574)
Contrast (15 15 15 0)

PA (0 0 255 === )
E1 (255 0 0 === )
E2 (0 0 0 === )
BG (255 255 255 === )

SP_NUMBER START END FILE_NAME
=============

And when I run scenaid to generate the scenarist script, it throws an exception and crashes.

Deleting the file fixes the problem.

D3s7
25th March 2005, 01:05
Ah I believe I have that corrected in the latest build I'm trying out.... I'll double check though and correct if not.

Do you recall what line # it's erroring on in case it's not the same problem i'm thinking of?

Thanks

THANK GOD! You're the man. Disc 4 is doing the same thing. Weird disc1 was fione, but 2,3, and 4 have this issue.

PS-> When ya have time send my VIP key. I made a donation on the 17th, well worth the money. And keep up the fine work!

D3s7
20th July 2005, 02:46
Until a fix is out (there is one sorta in the works) - the proper way to do these movies is by a VOBID demux (same vobid / cell is used multiple times within the same PGC)

seeing how you haven't encoded yet (i'm guessing) you may want to just re-demux these by vobid

Steel
20th July 2005, 02:49
Yeah I did encode them, but I can always start over. I'll let ya know how the VOD ID goes.
