View Full Version : Data redunfancy checks - coincidence or something more?

Schism

I use the latest DVD Shrink and it seems within the last week I've gotten several "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" errors where I had only gotten one in the last 6 months. The first two the CDs were scratched somewhat so I figured it might be that, but I've tried watching The Grudge on my PC with DVD shrink and it gave me the same error and froze up when analyzing at 25%, so I couldn't even watch it. Luckily I copied it to my PC with DVD decrypter so I could watch it but DVD decrypter also showed me some yellow 'flags' saying mainly "Sector XXXXXXXX - Pack Header Not Found" - what exactly does this mean? The disk looks perfect so I'm not exactly sure what could be causing this... is it my DVD drive messing up, software, or the DVD disks?
