newbie:how to calculate file size using Comp check result

Hi, guy

I use Gordian Knot (0.345b) and xvid 1.1 for video editing.

After finished the comp check.
it shows in the Encoder window:

+ Compressibility result: 0.179 Bits per Pixel
+ Compressibility result: 136192 Pixels 532 blocks

My video numbers of frame is 99504.


Does anyone tell me how can i calculate the file size (w/o audio )using the above comp test result before 2-pass encoding begin.

Not necessarily, is there a specific size range you are aiming for? Also How good do you want it too look compared to the original? If you just want a quick estimate aim for ~75% of the firstpass filesize

Yes, the information you gave is useless. What's the percentage? What's the filesize? The default is 700 MB. And if you're going for a specific filesize (like 1 CD), you'd also better fill in the audio filesize and the overhead. If not, then you can forget that part.

Filesize is determined by resolution and average bits per pixel.

If you want to know the filesize, you are going to have to change or configure the other two parameters manually. You will have to drag your slider bar to the desired output resolution, and will have to manually change the average bits per pixel. The program will then automatically calculate the filesize and give this number to you. This is shown on the same page where you manually change the average bits per pixel.

You might however as the other user suggested want to include overhead (place a check in the box), and also add in your audio stream if you are planning on making a disc that has audio included.

Cause I try to fill out 2 vcds into a single disc. Everytime, each Vcd
only encoding into 250 ~ 270 MB.

I try to adjust the resolution.
