View Full Version : Nero burns +R but they appear empty

I have a weird problem with Nero 6.6.0.6 and my Pioneer DVR-106 burner.

I can burn DVD-R perfectly but when I burn DVD+R (UDF1.2), they are obviously burnt and even tested OK by Nero, but then they appear empty in Explorer.
However when I then choose "continue multisession" in Nero I can see the contents of the disc (I'm very sure I didn't burn multisession in the first place!).

I tried different types of +R (Prodye and Verbatim) and it doesn't make a difference

I first thought it was the new firmware 1.08 that made the difference (because all my older DVD+R in UDF 1.2 format are working fine, I can see and read all their contents). So I changed back to FW 1.07 but the problem is still there...

So... I guess Nero 6.6.0.6 is faulty - anybody having the same experiences (or ideas what else could be wrong?)

Verified the problem with Nero 6.6.0.6

I re-installed Nero 6.3 and it works perfectly - burnt a DVD+R (Prodye) in UDF 1.02 format and it's perfectly okay.

There is an update to 6.6.0.8 available, don't know if that will help you or not.

Looks like there are problems with 6.6.0.6, 6.6.0.7 and 6.6.0.8 as since I've updated from 6.6.0.1 my Ritek 4 x DVD-Rs are taking exactly twice as long to burn as they should on my patched (16xall) Pioneer A108. The log indicates burning at 4x but it takes about 30 minutes instead of 15.

Looks like I'll have to go back to 6.6.0.1 unless anyone knows of a fix.

Finally got this fixed. It wasn't Nero at all, I'd updated WinXP Home XP2 to WinXP Pro SP2 on this PC and needed to re-install the IDE drivers as DMA was unavailable. Why the update should have done that I don't know.

Anyway Nero 6.6.0.8 now works fine.
