PC crashes when using AGK 1.6 1.92beta works ok till it gets to the first pass then crashes ive uninstalled and re-installed but still crashes anybody got any ideas THANXS

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

PC crashes during encoding are typically indicative of a hardware problem. Usually caused by excessive heat. This can be true even of off-the-shelf commercial PCs, not just custom built computers. Encoding applications produce more CPU heat than almost any other application. The best indication of a hardware instability is crashing at different points in the encoding; if it crashes at the same exact frame# each time, with exactly the same crash, then and only then would I suspect a bad video stream or the encoder.

If you are overclocking, turn it off.

the was built consisting
ASUS p4p800 motherboard
pentium p4 2.8
sata 120 gig hard drive
512 ddr 400 memory
the pc is about 11months old i have only just started playing about with divx and xvids so the problem as only just been notice
tried prime 95 torture test it failed after a couple of minutes saying rounding was 5 and should be less than 4
any advice where to look know THANXS
