I am in the market for a Pocket P.C. and am leaning towards the HP Ipaq 1715. Is there a guide available as a starter course in encoding for a pocket pc? I would like to be able to take a few of my favorite movies with me when I travel without having to bring my portable dvd player, I will have a 1gb card and was hoping to be able to fit at least 4 or so movies.

Check out pocketpcthoughts.com (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/articles.php?action=expand%2C16660), it might be a good place to start. This tutorial uses the Windows Media Encoder.
For conversion to other formats, the only thing I know to tell you is to lean on the search buttons. That's how I found this info. :)

P.S. don't check the 2 pass encoding as the turtorial says... many ppl have had problems with this. I haven't. But i asked the webmaster to change it but he hasn't yet.. :(
