Does anyone know if there is a software solution to convert Dolby E signals to PCM audio? Dolby E is being used by CBS, WB and FOX. Thanks

the local stations already convert the Dolby E to Dolby Digital, just treat it like normal Dolby Digital, cause that's what it is.

I realize that the locals convert the Dolby E by hardware, but is there a software solution to convert Dolby E to PCM/5.1. I have a Dobly E file that I want to edit, but can't edit it with anything that I have on my pc.

I don't think so, but Dolby just released a product able to encode/decode Dolby E on a file-based workflow :
"Optionally, the DP600 offers faster-than-real-time file-based encoding and decoding of Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby E bitstreams, functions previously available only in real-time Dolby hardware products. Additionally, it enables multichannel audio transcoding of Dolby E to Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus formats. It also offers a unique high-quality, single-step Dolby Digital to Dolby Digital Plus transcoder that preserves the metadata and minimizes tandem coding losses. This allows the audio from existing media archives to be converted to next-generation broadcast formats."
